Description

The MAC 600 is an automated yoke-

mounted Fresnel washlight designed

for a 575 watt source. It features a

3-wheel CMY color mixing system with

a supplemental 4-position color wheel,

continuous dimming, separate shutter,

combinable beam-shaping filters and

frost.

Specification

General

The luminaire is an automated yoke-

mounted washlight with a subtractive

cyan, magenta, and yellow color mixing

system, full-range dimmer, stopping

shutter, two overlapping beam-shaping

filters, and frost. It employs a 575 Watt

discharge lamp as the light source.

Mechanical effects

The luminaire provides subtractive

cyan, magenta, and yellow color mixing

and an additional color wheel with red,

green and blue colors as well as a

5600K to 3200K color temperature

correction filter and another position

for a direct pass through of the beam.

All filters are dichroic glass. In addition,

the luminaire provides two combinable

dynamic glass beam shapers and a

glass frost filter. Output intensity is

regulated from 0 to 100% by a mecha-

nical dimmer and a mechanical shutter

capable of opening and closing at

speeds up to 8 flashes per second. The

yoke pans 440° and the head tilts 306°.

The position of all mechanical effects

excluding the shutter is monitored

and corrected by a position feedback

system.

Control

The luminaire responds to command

signals conforming to either the USITT

DMX512 (1990) standard or the Martin

RS485 standard. All user-selected soft-

ware settings are adjustable via an

onboard control panel with LED display

or via data cabling in conjunction with

a remote control unit. The luminaire

has two locking 3-pole XLR connectors

for serial data transfer.

Performance

In the standard configuration, when

fitted with a new MSR 575/2 discharge

lamp, and with no colors or effects

applied, the luminaire emits a total

luminous flux of 20,500 lumens in a

beam 25° wide, where the outside

edge of the beam is defined as the

circle having one-tenth the intensity

of the beam’s midpoint.

Housing

The luminaire is constructed of sheet

steel and aluminum alloy. The exterior

finish is an electrostatically applied

powder coating.

Non-structural covers are constructed

of molded plastic.

Installation

The luminaire operates in any orienta-

tion. It is supplied with two brackets

to which mounting clamps may be

bolted. These brackets attach to the

base with quarter-turn fasteners such

that the luminaire may be installed at

any increment of 45° in a plane parallel

to the structure. When installed above

floor level, secondary attachment

should be fastened to a reinforced

attachment point in the luminaire’s base.

Electrical

The luminaire operates on 50 Hz sup-

plies at 200, 230, and 245 volts; and on

60 Hz supplies at 208 and 227 volts, +/-

five percent.It is fitted with a three

meter length of three conductor 1.5 sq.

mm (16 AWG) electrical cable for con-

nection to AC power. The luminaire

must be electrically grounded.

The luminaire is cETL certified for com-

pliance with CSA standard C22.2 No.

166 and ETL certified for compliance

with ANSI/UL standard 1573. It con-

forms with CE standards EN 60598-1

and EN 60598-2-17 for safety, and with

CE standards EN 50 081-1 and EN 50

082-1 for electromagnetic compatibility.

Environmental

The luminaire must be located in a dry,

well ventilated area in which the am-

bient temperature does not exceed 40°

C (104°F).Where installed outdoors, the

luminaire should be supplied witha pro-

tective housing with an IP rating of 44.
